How To: Make a Jar of Magic

2/15/2023 Girl Blogger: Fairy Princess Ava

Step 1

Find a jar, any jar. Even an old water bottle. The older and more ancient the better.

Step 2

You need to get the ingredients now. This might be glitter to you, sequins, a crystal, string, ribbon, a small figurine, a fragment of a leaf, a pebble, food dye, a berry, grass, or a dried-up flower… it does not really matter, you need to do what feels right, find what calls you and have it ready for your jar. Give love and gratitude to each ingredient. Make sure your ingredients feel magical. Also, make sure you have paper and a pencil.

Step 3

Find a peaceful place you want to make your jar. That might be your room with a few candles lit. Or during the day with all the windows open. Maybe outside with the trees. Play some music maybe, music that feels like magic. A small Spotify Playlist will be linked below! After you have done this, fill your jar 3/4 of the way with water.

Step 4

The best part! You get to create. Sprinkle in your ingredients, and admire how each one falls, plops, or simmers into the water. After this, you are going to pretend you have little fairy hands. Take your pencil to the paper and write as small as possible a few affirmations. Some example affirmations: I am strong, I am beauty, I am smart, I let go of negative energy, I am so grateful, I am so lucky. Just some examples, write whatever you feel you need. However, the most important one is to write at the end “I am magic”! Once you are done with this itsy bitsy note crumple it up into a tiny ball and throw it into the mix of your jar.

Step 5

Now you can screw the cap onto your jar and shake it. Watch all the colors, the shimmering water, and all your precious little items float, sink, or swirl. It’s a silly little craft I guess but you can leave it on your end table, or near your window sill to catch some sunlight, maybe on your desk, under your bed, on a shelf, wherever, but it will always be there when you need it. If you need something beautiful to look at, if you just want the comfort of the energy you had while making it, and most of all if you need to remember you are magic. xoxo, ac
