It’s What You Wear and How You Wear It

10/5/2023 Girl Blogger: Fairy Princess Ava

We’ve all heard “It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it”…

This may be true, although I think it sometimes does come down to what you’re wearing. Additionally, of course, always how you wear it.

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING???

I think you will always look beautiful. Truly, I do! You could probably rock a trash bag and still look like you just fell from heaven. However, there is a time and a place where it’s appropriate to wear a trash bag and I can promise you the time and place is not at dinner, class, work, a date, the mall, or getting coffee. etc. etc. I know it can be tiring to get up, get ready, and put a real outfit on. But it is so rewarding and honestly makes the world go round for me. It doesn’t matter what style you have just keep up with it and get inspired. Thinking about what I am going to wear the next day is the best part of the day. When I’m putting a real outfit together it comes down to a few things. Top, bottom, shoes, accessory, hair. Let’s put something together for the fall season…

Top: AC Silk Ribbon Tie Sweater

Skirt: Stella McCartney Mini Skirt

Coat: Marvin Richards Coat

Shoes: Leather Riding Boots

Everything linked is from TRR which is a great business that supports sustainability and has tons of options!

HOW ARE YOU WEARING IT?

A good outfit is nothing if you don’t wear it right. Obviously, the best way to wear an outfit is with confidence. I could deep that but I feel like there are hundreds of other articles you can read for that. My best confidence tips in short:

1) eliminate the fear of embarrassment - there is no reason to feel embarrassed everyone is focused on themselves and even if people judge you it will pass fast and doesn’t have to do anything with your reality

2) you are only this youthful and this type of beautiful for so long

3) you can’t reach who you want to become or the people you want to be surrounded by if you are trying to please people you don’t want to be like

So yes one of the best ways to wear an outfit is with confidence. If you are comfortable with yourself and what you are wearing it will radiate. Additionally, I think there is also another way to wear an outfit besides confidence. I like to channel a vision, an energy, or a person when I am really putting together the perfect outfit. It’s fun! The best way to do this is with a Pinterest board. Not only adding photos of outfit inspo but a general vibe makes all the difference. Who are you channeling when you are wearing your outfit? Right now my inspirations are Serena Vanderwoodsen, Adriana Lima, Wolfie Cindy, Aria Montgomery, Magdalena Frackowiak, Elena Gilbert, and always Lana Del Rey. I’ll add a pinterest board here for general inspo to channel when wearing an outfit.
